From 9–11 September 2026, Tallinn hosted NordPIANC 2026, organised by PIANC Estonia. The three-day meeting brought together PIANC members and representatives of ports, public authorities, industry and academia from Estonia, the Nordic countries and elsewhere in Europe.
The NordPIANC seminar programme focused on three main themes: Sustainable Port Infrastructure, Digital Twins and Decision Support, and Ports, Energy and Maritime Infrastructure.
The programme brought together experts from ports, industry, universities and the public sector. In addition to technical presentations, participants discussed the opportunities and limitations of digital twins in the port environment and explored topics related to offshore wind development, navigational safety, innovative materials, climate resilience and the future development of port infrastructure.
The three-day programme also provided valuable opportunities for networking and for discovering Estonia’s maritime sector and port infrastructure. The programme included a welcome reception at the Fat Margaret maritime museum, the main seminar in Tallinn, as well as a visit to Tallinn Old City Harbour and a boat tour.
